The end of winter is approaching, and we are about to begin a new series of classes here at Artemisia.

The schedule will be basically PAINTING CLASSES on Wednesday mornings from 10am to noon and DRAWING CLASSES on Thursday mornings from 10am to noon.

We are preparing to offer a number of workshops and one day classes during the summer, so if you have something you would like to learn, please let us know. artemisia@kingston.net
If you have a favorite local artist from whom you would want to take a class, please let us know.

As we now sell art supplies, we can meet all your class needs.

Classes and Workshops September - October 2011

PAINTING AND DRAWING CLASSES Begin September 27 and end October 27,2011
Painting and Drawing Classes each have a focus, and are independent of each other for attendance.
Fees for classes are 1. single class $20.00, 2. 6 classes $100.00, and 3. 10 classes $150.00.
Painting Classes: 1. materials and how they work,all mediums will be explored -- watercolor, acrylic, pastel
2. drawing for painting -- learning values and basic composition, notan and thumbnails
3. Color theory and mixing, the color wheel, complementary colors, mixing grays, sparkle
4. Design learn to use values and color to design your painting; line, texture and other elements will also be covered.
5. Using Photographs, painting light and shadow to complete your painting

Drawing Classes Each class will cover an element of drawing including perspective and
foreshortening, using various drawing media, drawing the figure will be the focus of all drawing classes.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE: Fees for workshops vary, check each one for details.

Tuesday September 27 Create a Kaleidoscope learn the science of mirrors and create your chamber.
Fee: $55.00 includes mirrors and chambers and tube.
Thursday September 29 Outdo the Royals! Make your own Fascinator!
Fee: $45.00 includes materials

Tuesday October 4 Finish the outer Scope
Fee: $45.00 includes fabric, leather, polymer, paper, etc.
Thursday October 6 Make your own Paper for note cards, letters and lots of other things.
Fee: $45.00 includes materials

Tuesday October 11 This Amazing Polymer Clay learn how to make beads, buttons, and
jewelry using a variety of techniques -- faux turquoise, hollow beads, faux stone, and more! ! !
Fee: $45.00 includes materials
Thursday October 13 Art Dolls -- learn the techniques for sewing and create a
conversation piece -- a cool bottlestopper.
Fee: $45.00 includes materials

Tuesday October 18 Creating Home Decor with stencilling, printing, and even polymer clay!
Fee: $40.00 includes all materials
Thursday October 20 Bookbinding -- learn to create great and unusual books for journals,
scrapbooks, diaries, and more.
Fee: $40.00 includes materials, bring your own special paper for pages or create it here!

Tuesday October 25 Pumpkin Carving Come on Down and add your clever carving to the pumpkin fest!
Thursday October 27 The Great Pumpkin awaits your creative carving skills.
Fee: $5.00 per session, bring your own pumpkin
